Playing in Ruins (Summer Photo)

we visited various ruins while in France, most of which I photographed- but only one of them had a playground. I saw a little kid playing on it, and I tried to lowkey take a photo "from the hip" and he just happened to look in my direction.

HW #1: Walking home from school one day, this caught my eye ...

Picture I took at the park, from the weekend:

I took this photo over spring break in Bhutan, Asia. Pictured is a Buddhist temple called the Tiger's Nest. It took a four hour hike to get there but it was well worth it!
Here is a collage of two portraits I took last week in Washington Square Park, edited with Lightroom.

EYEBROWS ON FLEEK

Week 1 Wrap-Up

Chalres Harbutt, Collapsing Building, Hamburg N.D.

Hello Everybody!

Thanks for a great first class! We had a lot of material to cover, thanks for sticking with it. Next week we will get outside and shoot a little bit, so be sure to bring your camera.

You should have received an invitation to join the class blog as a contributor. If you have any trouble accepting the invitation, please let me know. Take a look at the tutorial on the blog to show you how to make a post and upload videos, just in case you run in to trouble.

On to this week’s homework;

1- Post a photo to the class blog. This can be anything—one of your own pictures, a photo you like. please be sure to introduce yourself.

2- Take 50+ photos every day. Get used to taking your camera with you everyday. Don’t self-edit right now—just shoot. Experiment with the different rules of composition that we discussed in class today.

3-Post your favorite photo from what you shoot this week. Write which compositional technique or techniques you used.

That’s it! If you have any difficulty accessing the blog, or if you just have any questions about the supply list or anything that we covered in the syllabus today, please let me know.

I’m looking forward to next week and seeing what you’ve shot.

How to Post to the Blog

Hi everybody!

Welcome!

Here is a short video about how to make a blog post:

Here is another on how to upload a photo to the blog:

You cannot upload a raw file, so you will need to upload using the .jpg file from your camera. If you post your images to the web already using Flickr or another online service, you can link that image directly.

Just a reminder that your first post must be made before our next class this coming Saturday, so if you are running into any trouble, let me know right away!
