2nd Critque
My Style reflects my mood, my creativity, my attitude, and my love and attention for detail. |
I don't let others around me construct how I present myself. |
I am myself and I wear whatever makes me happy. I don't care what people think cause my opinion is the only thing I care about. |
I like being the coolest grandmother |
I like being unique , crazy, weird, and just in general lit |
As an athlete, style is an outsource for what you like to do other than playing high intense sports. I play soccer on the Womens National Team and its always good to show your style and taste. |
being live and different |
coming from a poor circumstance , style is what u wear and opinions will always be there good and bad. |

Week 8 Wrap-Up
Martin Parr |
Hi Everybody,
It's hard to believe that the semester is almost over!
We have just two classes before the final exhibition, and still a lot of work to do.
Please remember that next week is Spring Break for the New School and there are no classes March 26th!
This last week was our second critique. I'm really happy to see how everyone's series have grown and developed since our first critique.
Next class we will critique the work of this students who were absent. It will also be en open lab session for preparing your work for the final crit and exhibition. Make sure you bring all of your files to class!
After class (from 1 to 4), I will be giving an Advance Photoshop/Basic Retouching class if you'd like to come or if you just need extra time.
This week's homework is pretty simple:
1: Post your images from this week's critique to the blog. If you weren't in class, post them anyway in preparation for next class.
2: Send me the second draft of your artist statement before next class.
3: Take advantage of the extra Saturday off and shooter your series!
That's all for now. As always, please be in touch with any questions!

Week 7 Wrap-Up
Gregory Crewdson, Untitled (Ophelia), 2001 |
I hope you are enjoying the beautiful weather this weekend!
Today we talked about narrative and constructed photography, and did a collaborative project in class.
If you weren't in class today, I've posted the slideshow to the class Dropbox.
Next weeks our 2nd critique! Please come prepared with ten new images from your series, separated in to a folder with your name on it on a USB.
For homework this week, keep shooting for next week's crit.
We are also getting started on our Artist Statements. In preparation for the first draft, write three sentences about your series. Even if you aren't completely sure how to talk about your series, just free-write and get words down. Email the sentences to me before next class.
I will be working on mid-semester evaluations this week, so if you missed posting a homework assignment, now is your chance to get it on the blog.
I will be in the classroom early next week if you need time to prep your files for class or if you have any questions.
That's it for now--see you next week!
