MoMA Photo Response
Nan One Month After Being Battered
This picture shows how things were when one month after she had been bettered that she still had bruises and her eye was still almost all red. But despite that she still had a perm, her makeup done, and nice jewelry on.
My response to this picture was to try and recreate it with my mom. Since in the picture of Nan she has a black eye and a bruise under her right eye, I attempted to recreate that with makeup on my mom's face, but instead of having it in full light, I used shadows on half her face to make the picture have more of the effect as a lot of her other photos.
