TreeShe

Isha felt inspired to become a tree at Washington Square park. This is her story.

response to photo at moma - isha

this photo isn't a response to any photo in particular, rather the entire idea and vibe that i got from the nan goldin show. a lot of her photos were trying to kind of savor or capture memories to save for later, and were more about getting the actual moment in a photo then perfecting composition or quality. i took this photo of my mom because i love times like these with her when we're just sitting together when i get home and want to remember them. it's definitely not the most attractive photo by any means, but i like the message.

stranger (things) portrait - isha

This is the photo I took of a stranger last week! I'm quite a quiet person (unless I'm talking to someone I know then good luck making me stop talking) and can be very shy, so I wasn't really sure who to ask for a photo. I decided to ask this street artist because I really liked his drawings, and he told me to take a photo of him drawing because his art shows who he is. I myself love to draw, and I had a nice little conversation with him about art and showed him a few images on my phone. He  was surprisingly nice and didn't tell me to go away which was fun because I've never really talked to someone I don't know on the street,  anyways, it was new to take this photo and I actually liked it a lot.

isha's photo essay

These photos are of my little sister Jaanvi. I chose to take these photos because they quite accurately give you her personality in a little nutshell. She loves to collect stuffed animals and has special voices for the ones dear to her small heart; the one in the second photo is a labbit (rabbits with mustaches according to the store Kidrobot), she has a particular love for him. Jaanvi really loves My Little Pony and aspires to be a brony (grown and conventionally creepy old mlp fan though she in unaware of the creepy bit) and spends a lot of time watching it with her stuffed animals. I took these photos in our bedroom because we share one and that's where our close bond comes from. Reading and doing her hair are two more extreme passions of hers; she's a very unique nine year old and I haven't quite found another one like her. I think this mini series of photos shows her personality quite well.

Homework - isha

This is my favorite photo from Union Square because I love the colors and the natural pattern the radishes create!
