Invisibility

The presence of middle-aged-older women shown in mainstream beauty campaigns is nearly nonexistent, so I wanted to place the figure in a position that is almost beauty-campaign-like, with heavy focus on the face and her features. The packaging tape is vaguely representative of youthful beauty standards and botox-culture, as it quite literally tugs her face up.

I asked myself many time ''what is invisibility''.  After a while I realized that invisibility is something that you couldn't see. But sometimes you have to trust in that it exist so is the only way you can see it. INVISIBILITY "can be anything", can be your future you can't see how you future will look but you can make you own future, changing it in every decision that you make in your life.  As well can be your feeling into a glass of wine, that is something that nobody can't but they know how does it feel, when you put all you feeling together.

“Invisibility” is just a Phase

I usually don’t do so well when it comes to broad topics but when I think of invisibility I think of something that hasn’t or can’t be seen. In that sense I thought that what is invisible to me are outcomes, because nothing is certain in our lives even if we plan out everything. This photo is a structure that was on display at the Whitney Museum and it only shows the interior structure of what would be a building. This shows “invisibility” because you can’t really see it when the product is finished, but also you can’t really tell what it will become later on if it will continue to expand, stay the same or maybe to be tumbled again for something else. “Invisibility” would be something that is not yet in our understanding and the perspective of this photo shows the black space that is at the end of the tunnel and it signifies the uncertain.

Steven’s Introduction

My name is Steven and I live in Brooklyn, I’m into drawing, painting, and have also taken an interest into photography. I don’t really have a style of my own yet since I’m pretty new to photography. This photo is not from me but from a free lance photographer named Brandon Woelfol on Instagram

I really like how he uses color in his photos and how it has high saturation to make the hues of the photo stand out more.There are more photos were he also uses neon lights in to give a pleasant feeling in areas with little exposure. I like his style because it his techniques and how he uses light in his photos astonish me, he makes colorful outcomes through his unique style of editing.

Introducing Myself

My name is America. I'm from Brooklyn however, I spend most of my time in Manhattan, New York. I major in fashion design and do a little bit of art here and there. I'm hoping to increase my knowledge about the arts soon. These are one of the pictures I took on my phone and edit it on an app called VSCO. I really like this picture because skylines and sunsets seem so pretty to me. 

Interpretation Of " Invisibility"

When I thought about invisibility, the first thing that came to me were my night walks whenever I feel frustrated with myself or the world. Usually it involves not being able to recognize myself at times due to my actions. In other words, taking night walks breaks that boundary of invisibility when it comes to recognizing my mistakes.

Homework: Interpretation of Invisibility. By using inspiration of the Babushka Lady, an unknown woman present at JFk’s assassination, thought to have photographed the events. The aspect of invisibility covered was the anonymous identity of the woman, modeled by the woman with the bandanna and sunglasses.
