HW Week 1 Pic 2 My dog scout a few days ago Isabella Biegen
I chose this picture because i think it came out really bright and clear, which i thought was really nice. I also decided to choose this picture because i think that it really shows something that is really important to me, and i think that is why i cared so much about how the photo turned out.
HW Week 1 Picture 1 Europe this summer Isabella Biegen
I took this picture this summer while i was in Europe. I really loved all of the pastel colors and how they work well with each other. I also love how even thought the sun isn't directly hitting the whole picture, the picture still looks really bright.
This is a picture my mom took in Barcelona in 2012. My mom is an amazing photographer so it was no surprise when i saw this picture and loved it. It is of a church called La Sagrada Familia, made by an architect called Antoni Gaudi in 1882. Not only is it beautiful, but it also has an interesting backstory. As you can see in the picture, it looks like its still being constructed. When in reality, the architect just never got the chance to finish his beautful builiding. It remains unfinished to this day.

This is a picture I took of a flower in my living room. Orchids are my favorite flower, and they also happen to be Venezuela’s national flower, which is where I am from. I used a micro lens to take this picture and put the flower next to the window for some natural light, to illuminate the vibrant colors.
Homework #1:
This is a photograph I took about a year ago when I took a trip to the Amish Country in Pennsylvania. It was extremely interesting learning about their daily routines and their daily life. In this photograph I tried to express the beauty of the color of their fields even during the beginning of the winter.
First Homework - Emma Barber
This is a photo I took a few months ago of my dog. It makes me really happy to look at pictures of her, because I adopted her around the same time that my sister, who's my best friend, left for college. Now that it's just me and my mom living in the house, it's really nice to have such an adorable and happy pet around. I really love this picture because I took it right outside my house, she just lied down on the grass in front of the flowers and I thought it was the perfect moment to capture. I can't look at this picture without smiling. :)
I saw the rainbow by this fountain and freaked out. I thought it was really pretty.

Week 1 Homework- Anna Cohn
I took this last year I think during February , I just really like the way it's composed. It's of one of my friends who I've been friends with for a long time.
Week 1 Homework - Demi Pena-Chavez
This is a photo I took last December while at a flea market with my best friend. After going around the entire flea market, we snuck up to the roof of the building and started having a photo shoot. I like this photo because my friend is a super important person in my life, as well as all of my friendships. I also like it because you can see an amazing view of manhattan, from the statue of liberty to downtown, but he is still the main focus of the picture. I love the contrast of his black coat with the mostly light blue/white background and I love the his pose and facial expression, he looks very much at peace.
This is a photo I took in my sisters room. I choose this photo because my sister is a big part of my life, and together growing up we use to share this room. My family and friends are super important to me and I value them very much.

First Homework - Isha Chirimar

Homework due on Oct 1st
This is Salvador Dali, my all time favorite artist. His works are mostly about surrealism and cubism, which are things in the world of art that I'm very interested about. Dali's imagination and indulgence of art is really something that attracts me to his life stories and artworks.
I took this picture about 4 and a half hours ago. This view is from the 86th floor on the Empire state building. I've certainly been on this building for a few times last year, but I've never been on it during the day. The reason why I was always told to come here during the night is because the view is "prettier" at night. I often think it's very hard to find a unique viewing spot to take pictures that would look different from others. But look at it! I found a perfect spot that shows the crowding of the city, and also a shadow of the empire state building itself just as a reflection in the mirror. Something that the picture can show about me is probably my endless love for the city ever since I moved here 3 years ago.

Hey Everybody!
Thanks for a great first class! I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone does this semester. We will be shooting outside next week, so dress for the weather and don't forget to bring your camera!
You should be all set to post to the blog. I've posted a tutorial on the blog to show you how to make a post and upload videos, just in case you run in to trouble. If you have any problems logging in or uploading videos, let me know.
The class Dropbox (where I will post any handouts from class, including the syllabus and the supply list) can be found here:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/k1powzn8ix9g0hr/AACyh1aZqDD7gm2X7QV_x7-Pa?dl=0
On to this week’s homework:
1- Before the end of the weekend, post a photo to the class blog. This can be anything—one of your own pictures, a photo you like.
2-Get used to taking your camera with you everyday. Don’t self-edit right now—just shoot as much as possible.
3-Before next class, shoot and post a photograph of anything. Tell us a little about yourself in the post.
4-Read through your camera's manual. If you don't have your manual, you may be able to find it online here:
http://camera.manualsonline.com/manuals/device/digital_camera.html
That’s it! If you have any difficulty accessing the blog, or if you just have any questions about the supply list or anything that we covered in the syllabus today (or if there is anything in particular you'd like to make sure we cover), please let me know.
I’m looking forward to next week!

How to Post to the Blog
Hi everybody!
Welcome!
Here is a short video about how to make a blog post:
Welcome!
Here is a short video about how to make a blog post:
Here is another on how to upload a photo to the blog:
You cannot upload a raw file, so you will need to upload using the .jpg file from your camera. If you post your images to the web already using Flickr or another online service, you can link that image directly.
Just a reminder that your first post must be made before our next class this coming Saturday, so if you are running into any trouble, let me know right away!
