Eugene de Salignac, Brooklyn Bridge showing painters on suspenders, 1914. |
Hi Everybody.
It's hard to believe we've already been at this for a month!
This week, we continued to work on working in manual exposure with an emphasis on metering. If you still have questions or are unclear about any aspect of exposure, please don't hesitate to ask! I promise that, as long as you stick with it, it will become easier with time. Pretty soon, it'll be second nature.
We took a field trip to DUMBO and the Brooklyn Bridge Park where we worked on a photo scavenger hunt. If you weren't in class, I've posted the scavenger hunt worksheet in the class Dropbox. You can complete the worksheet anywhere, but I strongly recommend shooting outside in daylight (except for the "night shot").
For this week's homework, complete the scavenger hunt and post your images to the blog. Be sure to list your exposure and which "word" goes with each photo.
Next class will be our first critique. Please come to class with your 10 best photos from your project on a hard drive ready to share. Jpeg format is preferred, and please be sure to put them into a folder on your hard drive labelled with your name. We will not have time to sort the files during class, so come prepared, or else come early. The classroom opens at 9 if you need it, and I will be coming in early myself.
Even if you are still figuring out the focus for your series, please come with your 10 best images ready to share--we will help you work through your ideas.
If you have any questions at all about your series or the critique, definitely contact me before next Saturday.
Have a great week!
